I have just ordered my mum an adjustable bed. This is a 3 foot single, and I understand they are longer than a standard single bed (so 6'6").

Where can I get sheets and (in particular) a mattress protector? For sheets she likes brushed cotton.

I hate Amazon but will if I have to. I'd rather buy elsewhere though.

Ikea might be worth a look, they tend to have longer European mattress sizes and Dunelm online always seem to have tons of size options

Have you been in touch with the place you have bought the bed?

Are you in touch with anyone from Social Services? When FIL came out of hospital and needed that kind of thing, some of the local team that was involved (can't remember exactly who now) were helpful giving advice

You need ones that are specifically designed to fit adjustable beds , not just longer ones.

I bought an adjustable bed for my DM and we used ordinary fitted sheets with no problem. One thing I found an absolute life saver was clips for the corners. It meant that if the bed wasn't wet or soiled it didn't need to be remade. DM said it was like getting into fresh clean bedding every day because the bottom sheet was wrinkle free.

Thanks for your help all. I will have a look at all these. She doesn't need a waterproof mattress cover now, but I might try and get one of those as well to have all bases covered (so to speak). The place I bought the bed doesn't seem to do this sort of thing (it's a mobility place near where she lives - very helpful but they only do a limited range of things), but I will check again.

My sons have longer than average singles and ikea works for us.
