DF skipping meals

I have just realised that my DM has been skipping meals. She lives independently and gets either Wiltshire Farm Foods or Oakhouse meals delivered. I've just realised that she doesn't buy enough to cover all the days when she needs a meal and I challenged her last week when she admitted that she doesn't always bother with eating. She has lost a lot of weight recently which I couldn't understand but obviously all is now clear.

She gets her shopping delivered so I have suggested getting some snacky foods for when she doesn't feel like a full meal but, obviously I can't force her to eat. Does anyone have any experience of this or suggestions how to approach it.

My elderly dad lives alone and was skipping meals as he said that he didn't feel hungry. However he will snack throughout the day mainly on sweet things like cake. It's not ideal but at least he is eating. We have a family meal with him once a week and we find that he eats more then. We did look at a lunch club because he seems to eat more when other people are eating with him but he wasn't keen.

Loss of appetite and losing weight without trying is one of the symptoms of many cancers. When did she last have a full well check at her GP?
