Not sure if this is the best place to put this but posting in case anyone has recommendations in that area. Parents live near Kingsbridge. Thanks

The local council where my parents live produce a 'care directory' that details the various providers of all sorts of local care options and services, including both care and nursing homes. It might be worth seeing of Devon council has anything similar.

You can also select the details of local care homes and see their latest reviews on the Care Quality Commission website

I'm not a huge fan of reviews and CQC reports. Across a nine year period we had experience of two care homes being put into special measures.
Nothing beats visiting candidate homes yourselves. It's an awful task but it's worth doing.
For what it's worth my priorities would be: The manager has been there more than two years, leads from the front and can demonstrate a loyal and well trained staff. People are smiling and look as happy as they can.
