Dehumidifiers are very common now in many homes. It's supposed to remove moisture from the air. It's very good especially if you dry clothes indoors.

I have a dehumidifier set up in the hall because that's where the clothes are hund on a rail. My mother is utterly utterly utterly paranoid of the machine and she refuses to allowe to have it on. She's paranoid of a high bill even though she doesn't have any problem using other appliances and she also has some sort of a benefit to reduce the electricity bill too because of her age. She's paranoid of ecelteticy use over night and 'fire hazard' thing. All of it is nonsense.

I see there is now a load of condensation on the window in the hall and the machine has to be run. I don't get it. I am trying to improve the place. Over the past month I had to wait til she goes to bed and I chuck my laundry into the tumble dryer for about 15 minutes and usually they are ok coming out. But I would prefer to leave the machine on overnight to reduce the moisture in the hall and home.

She's just being so hard.

I use smart plugs. You can switch things on and off remotely.

It's not easy living with an aged parent, is it?
