The last 2 weeks have been a sad sorry nightmare, leading up to my lovely sweet kind mum going into a care home. I cared for her and my dad single handed for the last 2 years from just popping in, to taking over shopping, finances and personal care. Dad had a stroke leaving him unable to communicate. Mum struggled with her mental health and being a carer 24/7.I struggled to care for them. I have no life or free time as they both expect me to be at their beck and call.

I love them x

I’m so sorry that’s sounds exhausting and sad.
has your mother settled? How is your father?
I hope you can take some time for yourself now.

You can't pour from an empty cup.

I suggest you contact Age UK and ask what help can be offered to your dad to give you time to reclaim your life. Carers, meals on wheels, etc.

Is he claiming all the benefits he's entitled to?

I think it can take a long time to recover at all from this sort of setup. Does it feel at all easier? Is there any other support for your dad?
