DM has had your diagnosis and the score is 74/100. Can anyone explain this please?

According to NHS, less than 82 is likely dementia. My father scored mid 80s and was put down as mild cognitive impairment.

Thank you @MereDintofPandiculation. She's had a letter to say that it's Vascular Dementia.

It's been a bit hard to spit if I'm honest because she's always been an utter cow to family but she's now taking the filters off and behaving like they to most people.

Just to add that as I understand it, the ACE III doesn't correlate directly to dementia - so if you score 50 it doesn't mean you have worse dementia than a 60.

It's very hard emotionally when you get a diagnosis. It's still hard if you have a difficult relationship as well as if you have a good one. You just have different emotions. Be kind to yourself.

Thank you Five. Weirdly she's actually being nice-ish to me. Don't know if some part of her realises she's totally fucked if I don't help her in some way. Nobody else can stand her.

@CadyEastman interesting to hear that your DM is being nice to you - same here after a lifetime of being horrible. It's quite confusing. I'm not sure if the cognitive impairment has blunted her ability to think up spiteful comments or whether she realises she needs to be nicer to get care, although the latter would suggest self awareness so I guess not.

or whether she realises she needs to be nicer to get care, although the latter would suggest self awareness so I guess not.

I think that's what is confusing me. She's never shown a trace of self awareness before, so can't imagine she's developed some suddenly now.
