My mum has an iPad which she's ok with as it's all set up with her apps and accounts etc, but I often field phone calls from her where she's asking me to help with something that I know I could do very easily if I was there, but that's it hard to deal with blind.

Is there a way I can install something on her iPad so I can login and take over the screen from my laptop?

I'm thinking like TeamViewer or something. The IT guys at work often take over my computer to install stuff etc.

I used TeamViewer for a while for my parent's laptop, while they still used one, but they never got comfortable with it, and their mobile phone has caused a lot of problems. I got pretty burned out with struggling for ages over the phone to try to fix things (I live a long way away from my parent).

So it doesn't answer your question directly, but the solution that worked best for us was to bring in a helper first once a week, now twice a week, who does various things but whose main task is devices (TV, phone, ipad). It gets a better result for my parent and has relieve me of a lot of stress.
