Hi , my dad is 85 and has smoked all his life & has severe COPD he’s been in and out of hospital with various different problems & deteriorated each time
We found a nice care home where he seems settled but has developed pneumonia so is back in hospital very unwell he’s now on mashed food as he can’t swallow well due to phelgm .
I have noticed that his small room gets very hot & stuffy and his chair is against a radiator where there isn’t a thermostat to turn it down
I’m just wondering if this could have had an impact on his COPD as there isn’t any moisture in the air which can be drying

Yes possibly it could be. You can place a bowl of water on the radiator to add moisture to the air, that should help.
My dad uses a nebulizer with saline in it to loosen the phlegm and it works well.
