Personal alarm experience/recommendations

I’ve just started to look into setting up a personal alarm for my mum to wear around her neck at home. There seems to be quite a few options - so far I’ve looked at Saga, Age UK and the local authority one.

Just wondering if anyone can recommend one in particular?
Any specific features or benefits to look for?
Tia

We've found that the local authority one is fine. MIL's has a bracelet as well as a neck "cord".

However... the thing to know/remember is that whoever is named contact will get an automatic call. Her neighbours declined after the 4th call in the middle of the night... I don't blame them. DH drives the 50 minutes every time. He sometimes gets there before the paramedics. (She has bouts of falling every so often, a few months apart. Docs are looking into it, but only when pushed)

Thank you @BeyondMyWits
I will be the contact but fortunately only live 10 minutes away. She hasn’t fallen before so initially this is a precautionary measure -more for reassurance at this stage

Mum had the LA one, I was the contact but when it was set up they asked for times when I couldn't/wouldn't turn out. I set it up so that they would provide the night service, I knew that if I'd been out I wouldn't get back to sleep afterwards and then I'd be fit for nothing for the following day.

As pp said, a bracelet is sometimes an option. DM didn’t want to wear the pendant at night as was worried about strangling herself but is happy to keep the bracelet on all the time.

DMs is just one where you push a button but you can also get ones which detect a fall. Our LA told me that they have a huge backlog for theirs at the moment so availability may be something to check.

You will probably need a key safe if you don’t already have one.
