Gifting to elderly

It was my mom's birthday recently. I got her a gift card and a gift to go with the card. The gift I got was a picture frame. I have a lovely picture to print out too but when I went tí print the picture the machines were down. So I gifted the frame and mentioned I will print the picture another time.

My mother came to me this morning to ask for a receipt to return the item because what she sees is another county's crystal and not our own county and she doesn't want anything from the other County.

What I saw was a lovely photo frame to give as a gift. The name of a another county never crossed my mind.
I had some busy days for the past few days. Choc-a-bloc busy from morning til night til I got sick. I don't know where the receipt is. I had a quick look but I was late for work and I couldn't stay looking and I don't know where it is.

I'm really confused, what is crystal from another county? Can she exchange it instead?

What a total pain. Can you peel a sticker off crystal from a competing county and pass it off? Or would you need all the packaging etc too?

In my home county there is a crystal company. They make all sorts of glassware and other stuff. Other counties have similar. I don't want to give the name of my county away. Basically I bought a frame and the name on the box of the frame - is - T.... County Crystal. She doesn't want it because of that. Nowhere on the frame does it mention the county or the brand name. Its just on the box and also under the glass in the frame there is a slip of paper with the brand name.

I hope that clears it up.

I don't understand it. She's not big into her own county. She just sees another county and doesn't want it.

What I saw was a lovely black and gold frame.

It's weirdly tribal. If you can't find the receipt I would print the photo anyway and give it back to her saying it can't be returned. (And not to be ungracious/batshit) 😉

My dad was like that, wanted some beer from the local brewery, not as a present jist a little treat. I couldn't find it in the shop so got the next best thing.
Refused it as not from the local place.

Guessing it's Tipperary crystal and she is in Kilkenny!! She will totally never accept this..But that is a pain for you and is very silly. . You might have to take it back and gift it to someone else.

Ahh that makes sense! I did wonder because my Irish nanna was very much obsessed with Waterford crystal! I'd just be truthful I guess? If you can't find the receipt then not sure what you can do about that.
