I applied for this on behalf of my mum in the first week of July. I filled out a paper form as opposed to doing it online. I've heard nothing. Has anyone else any recent experience of waiting times? Thanks!

I'd give them a call on Monday and check that they've received it. I think my DMs was through in about 8 weeks.

Did you put your mobile phone number on the form for contact details. I got a text within a week to say they had the form and decision should be within 8 weeks.
payment went into the bank about 7 weeks later back dated to when they received application.
this was last April

@lazymum99 yes I definitely put my mobile no on it. Not a sausage.

I’d give them a call then on Monday to check they have received it. Be prepared for a long wait for someone to answer though

Call first thing at 9 am. I have the number ready to dial immediately my phone changes from 8.59 to 9. I always get through straight away.

My dad's AA was through in about three weeks, but this was about a year ago though.

I'm a signatory on my mums current account, so I can move money, pay bills electronically legitimately so to speak.

I've logged on tonight and noticed the dwp have made an additional payment of £494 a couple of days ago. I scratched my head a bit but its dawned on me that it equates to 8 weeks attendance allowance at the lower rate.

RESULT - i now don't have to phone then. Paperwork must be in the post.
