RAID assessment

My mum is currently in hospital, firstly a fall and then UTI. She caught COVID in the hospital and is now in respiratory unit but thankfully a symptomatic. She is often confused but pleasantly so, she has not had a dementia diagnosis but I think she has some form of it. We were waiting for social services assessment prior to admission but now we are told she needs a RAID assessment first. Does anyone know what a RAID assessment will be looking for? I can see it is to do with mental health but could it simply be looking for dementia or some more serious mental health issue. We can’t visit which isn’t helping. Any help/advice would be useful.

Hello- just giving you a bump, never heard of a RAID assessment (sorry) Google says it’s a framework for evaluating anxiety in people with dementia. Hopefully someone can advise.

Hope your DM is comfortable Flowers
