.. a monitoring service for the vulnerable which is actually making well-being calls (including staying with an elderly lady for the 8 hour wait for the ambulance)

Wow me neither. What an amazing service. The people who work there must need such emotional resilience

I read that yesterday, it's not the same service that MIL is getting.

If they could get mum to take her tablets I'd sign up now because it's more than I can cope with. Over the phone it's a nightmare, starting with finding where she's put them, reminding her what the box looks like, telling her what day it is and that's before we start with the tablet that has to go into an inhaler. There is no way I have the patience to do that as a job.

Yes, I knew of the service, but I work in heathcare. They are expensive though and more aimed at people who have no friends or relatives within a short distance.

We got mum nan a call alert alarm she wears. You pre-programme 3 numbers on it and the alarm will call each number till someone answers. If it goes around the cycle and no one has picked up, it then goes through to the ambulance service. I had to record a message on the call alert stating something like 'This is Jean, I've pressed my call alert and need assistance. My address is .....'. Some of these companies do offer the live person chatting option, but as said, they are much more expensive.

Can anyone point me in the direction of accessing this service please? I don’t know what to search for and would like to know more. Thanks 😊
