socks!

Possibly the dullest recommendation ask EVER. But dad has swollen ankles and feet and I want to buy him the best socks EVER. I want them to be soft as clouds and with no horrible digging in bits. I see diabetic socks advertised and have tried him with some but they seem to be made of horrible synthetic fibres. Anyone out there lavished their dads with amazing socks? x

And i'd love it if they were stylish and 'dapper' too!

Forgot the link, doh!

Bamboo socks are the best according to my patients with diabetic and swollen feet, these all have a lovely cushioned sole as well. They have pure cotton soft top ones too with stripes and patterns.

The Corrymoor Gentletop socks are lovely mohair and no digging in bits

If he happens to be a size 8 drop me a line, I have some hand knitted wool ones that might fit him.

TheoneandObi · 04/06/2020 21:44

Corrymoor look promising, and they've sent me a new shopper discount code, so I've gone ahead and ordered some. Thanks!

@Knotaknitter thanks! Sweet offer but he's a couple of sizes up from that. X

Matalan sell soft socks that don't have elastic or anything at the top, my grandad loves them as they don't dig into his ankles. He is very fussy with socks and he loves these.

TheQueef · 05/06/2020 12:21

Good thread.
I've spent billions at least £150 on multitudes of socks in the pursuit of non tobelorone legs for my Dad.
I will also give Corrymore a punt.

Is there such a thing as envelope neck t-shirts for men? I've googled but it appears there is a 'specialist ' market for men's baby vests....I don't want those Blush

My dad likes the italian socjs from m and s

DM has swollen feet and I bought her these which she loves. They are 98% combed cotton. Not quite sure if they fit the stylish and dapper bill but there are a lot of colours available.

Lots of others on their website including wool rich ones. I bought through the Cosyfeet Amazon shop.

An old thread I know, @TheoneandObi but I was searching for Xmas present ideas and wondering which Corrymoor socks you bought and how you found them? Are they soft?!

My mum has dreadfully swollen feet, ankles and calves. She has cosy toes sock and also some ‘soft top’ ones from Morrison’s. I’m not sure either are 100% cotton but the morrisons ones are cheap and so the job.

Now if anyone can advise me on shoes i will th am you after I’ve recovered from a dead faint. Not cost toes as I think I’ve bought and returned most of the catalogueSad Sad

Cosyfeet with wool, wide fit soft top! Made my mum quite happy.
