Following my marriage breakdown I've been looking into what I really want to do, and I have a couple of business ideas, but I would love to get some feedback... One is to provide a travel escort service, collecting from their home, going to the train/airport/just in the car through to their final destination, the other is a travel companion who stays with them throughout the trip, not for full personal care but some basic assistance like pushing a wheelchair longer distances. They seem to exist in the US but not seem anything like it in Europe. Unaccompanied minors are another potential market. I've spent years caring so I need to forge a way of making money, and I think there's a need with people so spread out. What do you think?

Sounds a good idea! Would you offer taking to hospital appts/ shopping/ trips out?
Sounds like you could do with regular clients? Check out via age uk etc or local council website what exists locally?

Great idea. You would need training, DBS checks, liability insurance. Some gp surgeries offer this so you might find info on websites.

It's a lovely idea, but how much would you charge? The kind of people that can afford that kind of thing can already hire PAs through agencies.

What would your USP+ be? How would you cope with delays meeting people when you had another appointment coming up. How many could you realistically do in one day

If you employ people, how could you prevent them undercutting you to steal your clients.

The driving them to airport etc, how would it differ from cab?

Would you do a service of taking them to hospital appointments and waiting there, I bet there’s a market for that, but again you’d be competing with cab firms.
