Looking for a bit of advice ?My mum was bluelighted into hospital early hours of boxing day morning due to various health conditions. She had been in hospital for 3 weeks starting November so we are in contact with OH.But her bed is extremely high (god knows how she managed before)now too the point she is terrified to get in even with a step and will not use a hand rail as it's on her left hand side and she will not change the side she gets into bed from.Would OH be able to assist with a different type of bed or is this something I would need to purchase ourselves.Have heard various different answers so checking to see if anyone has had any experience? We are also based in Scotland if that makes a difference? Thank you

Is oH the occupational therapist? They can measure the height for a suitable bed and see if they can offer her a hospital style bed that goes lower which might be easier for her to get in and out of, they have easy controls and sides she can hold onto. They might be able to get her a bed lever or just advise you what type of bed would be safer which you might have to buy. I don't know about Scotland, is there a website that tells you what help is available.
