My dad is 94 and has lung cancer. He is coming to the end of his life ands wants to remain at home, a decision that I’m very happy to facilitate. He now needs 24/7 care which I’ve put in place but this is costing around £2000 a week. We’re ok financially for the moment but can’t fund this for months should he live that long. Can anyone advise me of any funding that he may be eligible for to assist with this? Thanks.

He may be entitled to fast track c.h.c. funding which is for people who are approaching the end of their lives, it's non means tested and covers all costs. Ask the GP to help you, you can also speak to adult social services, specify it is for fast track funding, you can view it on line. If he has a McMillan nurse or is now known to the district nurses or community palliative care team they can also help you. Flowers

Thank you. That’s helpful.
