Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could give me a rough idea of what a live in carer would be in London?

I was told that it would be about the same as a nursing home so anything upward of £1200/week.

Is that for a nurse of a carer?

About £45K per year including agency fee

I worked as a Live-In Carer until a couple of years ago, for an agency with clients throughout England. Cost was based on clients level of need rather than location. We were paid between £420 and £550pw and the client charged £800 to £950pw. Agency kept the difference. Client also had to provide suitable food for carer or £35pw cash to carer, pay for all continence pads, gloves etc, have a suitable spare room, ensure carer got 2 hours break every day and there were guidelines about amount of night time care we were supposed to be available for.

Yes it's more expensive if they need nighttime care, my dad would have needed 2 carers.

I priced live in care in from a highly rated agency in SW15 earlier this year - we didn’t go ahead but I just looked back at the email. It was £143 per day and on top of that £40pw for the carers food
