I have a sister who is 3 years older than me, has never had a proper job and has been supported by our mother for many years. When our father died 6 years ago, he left a substantial (huge) amount of money to her. Our mother has spina bifida and dementia and the money is all gone thanks to my sisters expensive spending. We live in two different countries and my sister does a lot for our mum, taking her to doctors appointments and buying her food and lots of things she doesn't need or ask for. I have a corporate job, have worked my butt off, have had 27 operations due to a bone disorder but have always tried to be independent. So should I help my mother now that the money is all gone?

Realistically what sort of support do you think you can do from another country? Is there an expectation from your sister and / or mother that you should be doing more?
