Teeth cleaning

Hi,

My mum has had a stroke and is majorly physically and mentally incapacitated. She is in hospital on the stroke ward and whenever I visit her teeth are disgusting. She's allowed soft food. I always try and clean her teeth when I'm there. Is this something the nurses hca's should be doing. I'm going to try and talk with the nurse in charge the next time I'm in but wanted to know what's standard before I do.

Absolutely they should be doing it! Have you complained? This is very basic stuff...the arseholes!
