Just left for respite..

Well dads just left for respite...
He thinks hes going for a drive out. We couldnt tell him where he was going because he would have kicked off
I know its in his best interests to keep him calm but i really hate having to lie be economical with the truth.

- that's tough.

When my mother had dementia I used to rationalise things like that by telling myself that it was like dealing with a toddler. She was no longer rational & I had to take control & be the parent for her, as it were.

Mums just got back and apparently dad was fine! She left him sitting in the conservatory watching squirrels

Oh Ludoole- please use this time as respite for you. He will be fine. Don't feel guilty. Do some nice things. Take care
