Waiting for it to go wrong

Why do parents have to be so damn difficult?? Sorry, but that is how it feels . After having a care assessment the social worker had put care in place, though it turns out it was a response team and not home care as she told me. This has now stopped as my DSM has done everything possible to make these carers unneeded/unwelcome. I've no idea how she has managed it but she has. Before the care started the pharmacy were having her go six days a week for her and dads tablets, he has alzhiemer's. DSM had been unable to follow the weekly dosset boxes of meds for them both and by her own admission she doesn't watch dad to check he takes the tablets, he isn't keen and tends to chuck them away. She has been doing the tablets before the carers arrive though I know it can't last. She has refused the new hand and grab rails due to be fitted on the stairs, the contractor called to arrange a time and she told him she didn't want them at all. I've all but given up on trying to sort POA. I first talked about it over a year ago but it got put off by' can we do it after Christmas' then another excuse and then another. She really doesn't want to give up being in control over things and however much I explain that it is for the future not for now I just get ' yes I know'
I'm waiting to hear from the social worker as she has been on holiday as I don't really think it is going to take long before help is needed again.

Oh and I forgot to mention that I had a call from the care phone team last week. The carbon monoxide alarm had gone off but they couldnt get an answer on the phone. Turns out The sensor which was fitted on the living room wall high up had been moved. DSM didnt like where it was so had gone on and on at dad to move it so he took it off the wall and moved it on to the floor under a little table so she couldn't see it.
