As of course it's Saturday and I can't call them :(

Dad went into respite 24/12 and into hospital after. Fall 27/12. ( went back to respite 19/1)

We have a bill for 24/12 to 10/1 at £x per week...

Are we really expected to pay the full amount for the time he wasn't there?

I suppose thay had to keep the bed available for him in case he was discharged, which would mean they couldn't 'sell' it to anyone else.

The place where DD goes for respite say they will charge if they are not given 48 hrs notice of cancellation. We have cancelled once due to DD being too ill to go there (daft as it sounds but she would end up in a hospital we don't want her in if she had to be admitted from the respite centre) but we don't pay for DDs respite as she is CHC funded, so not sure exactly what happens - sorry.

I would at least try and negotiate a reduction on the basis that they didn't have certain costs during that time eg food/drink, but unless they knew for definite he wasn't coming back until 19/1 I would be surprised if you have any joy in avoiding the rest.
