How much help can we get?

My grandfather is suffering from an aggressive brain tumour and is failing fast. He is being cared for at home by my 90 year old grandmother and my mother most of the time with occassional help from other members of the family when they can. He now has help from hospice staff to wash daily but I think my family need more help as my mother and grandmother are exhausted. Can anyone share their experiences with me on the amount of help they managed to recieve in a similar situation. I have 2 small children and a husband who works away alot so it is difficult to help on the night shift but would really like to get help for them.

I would talk to the hospice about having extra care. When my dad was dying we had 24 hr care towards the end at home. It will depend on what is offered in that area. Otherwise contact Adult Services for an urgent care package or look for private nursing agencies.
