Given the current 11+/transfer situation, would you be concerned that if selection ends, some areas will become more 'desirable' due to proximity to grammar schools, or is it too silly to worry about if you have young primary/pre school aged children?

There is no telling what will happen with grammar schools - whether they will be abolished or not and you won't know if the schools will stay desirable if selection ends so I wouldn't worry about it.
