School have sent letters out about the transition and I just don't want ds to move up to the juniors.
I feel so emotional about it, it's embarrasing! I am like it every year when the change classes but feel even worse this year. It's such a big step and I feel like he is not my baby any more
What is wrong with me?????

It doesn't get any better. I remember being very emotional the day we dropped ds off at university and left him there! I felt awful all the way home. He, of course, was fine; went to a freshers' party, got very drunk and made loads of friends! Letting go isn't easy for us mums.

I am worried about it too BH. I don't know why though cos dd is really excited about it.

I know she will be fine so am trying to relax and not stress over it.

DD2 however will be leaving reception and he wonderful teacher and I find that really upsetting and wonder how dd will cope as she idolises her.

John Peel said on Home Truths once that he and his wife had to stop the car to cry when they left one of theirs at university.

Once a parent...

Last Sept my little boy moved up to juniors and my little girl moved to secondary school - its very sad as you say because the fact that they are growing up is there in your face! However, both were incredibly excited and I feel proud that they embraced it so beautifully

My DD2 moves upto juniors this sept, DD1 goes to secondary school 2006 and DD3 starts school Jan 06 They're all my little babies and all growing up too fast!

It's not fair I want them all at home with me....till they start argueing!!

Not this September coming but the one after ds1 goes to secondary school and the year after ds2 will follow and I am dreading it.
I cannot believe how the time has flown. Everyone says to you when you have a baby to make the most of it as time whizzes past but until your own children start to grow up you don't really believe it.
