It was his last day in school today and so he and some of his friends 'scived' (truented) but got caught. They were put in a 'holding room' (sorry, is this a school or a police cell?) until my mum picked him up. The school said they would have a meeting next week to decide whether they will 'let him' sit his GCSE's which I think start in a coupld of weeks.

Ok, he's not a saint, but he isn't nasty, cruel to others, or a bully. He's just a fiftenn year old boy who isn't THAT interetsed in school. But can they stop him taking his exams?

Could my mum & dad offer to pay for the exams?

Any hep would be appreciated!

Glad to hear that he can sit his exams. I hope they go well for him.

Let's just hope others in the school learn from your brother's and his peer's mistakes. Then maybe leaver's day want to be such a nightmare! Our school also has 'business as usual', with an assembly in the afternoon and an earlier time to go home.

I think we can all recall a few crazy teachers! Some of whom were nothing more than vicious bullies who loved having power over kids. I remember one old bat who really enjoyed hitting kids with her hymn book (primary school). And PE teachers!! Not saying this is the case here, but not all teachers are saints either.

The (male) French teacher at my grammar school was a complete bully. If any girls were wearing the "wrong" colour tights (ie greyish or brownish rather than the neutral official "American tan" shade) he would make us TAKE THEM OFF at the classroom door in front of everyone, including boys, and STAND ON YOUR DESK for the rest of the lesson. Actually, strike "bully", I mean perv. Can you imagine anyone being allowed to do that now? If my daughter were treated like that at school I'd sue them!
