Summer holiday (state school) is 7 1/2 weeks this year!

How fab is that? Can't remember it ever being this long

Exactly 6 here too, but only because of inset days. The staff only get 5 and a half weeks.

'only' get?

Yes, I stand by only get. I do not think that state schools summer holiday is too long. The children and the teachers really do need a long holiday, they are so tired by late July. Our summer holidays are rather short compared to the rest of Europe.

berkshire is exactly 6 weeks to the day.
