My god daughter is moving up to secondary school in September and I wanted to make her a small gift to mark the passing of time etc - so what do all the cool kids take their school euipment to school in?

Rather sadly, we go for the clear pencil case that they need for examinations. It is nicer on the day than a ziplock bag.

This has some very acceptable gifts for 11 year olds! Mine adore this stuff.....

We found loads of gorgeous ones in paperchase! Not where we would have expected to find such a large collection but...

Best avoid a tin pencil ,some schools ban them.

AramintaCane · 13/07/2009 12:11

why do they ban them ?

scienceteacher · 13/07/2009 14:19

I was wondering that too. We don't ban anything, although require clear packaging during examinations.

At our school the trendy thing is a tiny thin pencil case, for your "every lesson" items - ie pen, pencil, ruler, eraser.
