If I am seriously thinking of moving back to Scotland in the summer, is it worth DS1 sitting his SATS?

He has had practice sheets home with him, and is really struggling with them. he has, in the year and half we ahve lived in England really struggled at school, and has gone down 2 groups in maths and 1 in English.
I am giving serious thought to moving the DSes and myself back to Scotland in the summer.
Is it worth Ds1 still doing the SATs in this case? Or does he need to do them regardless, do I not have a choice?

I would say there is no point as Scotland doesn't do SATS. You could take him out of School on SAT days.

That's what I thought, Scotland doesn't do them, so teh results wouldn't have any bearing on his secondary education anyway.

Although you say you are seriously thinking about moving back to Scotland, what will happen if you don't. What year is your son in ? if it's Yr2 it should not matter much, but Yr6 might be more of a problem if you do stay in England.
I think your school might object if your son misses the Yr 6 sats, as it may distort their figures.
