Anyone have any experience/recommendations of Hurstpierpoint College?

Have just found out today that DS has been offered a scholarship to start there next year in the sixth form. However, even with the scholarship, the fees will be around 5,500 per term, therefore a considerable amount of money. My DH and I work abroad so boarding school is a must, not a luxury.
Has anyone got any experience of this college and can recommend it? In a panic as need to accept or decline by 10th December

Two of our good friends went there (Forces brats - the school takes, or certianly used to take, a lot of them). One enhjoyed it, one was a bit more ambivalent.

I used to play in the grounds as a child and teenager as my best friends father was Hpusemaster and teacher there for years. It was a long time ago but it is a lovely place.

They do a lot of choir and social events with Roedean so get some exposure to girls. The lads I knew there seemed content - it was less high-pressure than many places. If your son needs to go to a boarding school, it's probably as good as any.
