Education Sec - Ruth Kelly - does anyone else find her thoroughly dislikeable?

Obviously I don't know her personally, but what I've seen of her on TV, she makes my blood run cold.

Is it just that for women to be really successful in politics they have to be 100 times as arrogant and belligerent as the men that surround them?

I have warmed to JP more since we noticed that dd as a small baby bore a worrying resemblence to him (smaller, in pink tights) before her hair thankfully curled.
I do also feel he was the butt of some cruel humour from Nicholas Soames (I'll have a whisky, Giovanni, and a G and T for the lady...)
He is one of the few senior politicians who has had a blue collar or service sector career...

I worry when she says that the most important thing in education is parental choice. I would have thought that educating children would be the most important thing. that comment is the triumph of style over substance.....promice 'em something to keep them sweet that doen't cost anything
