AIBU to suggest that an INSET day on 12th September is annoying?

1 and 2 Sept were INSET days and they went back on 3 Sept. Another INSET day this soon is annoying. Get 'em in and keep 'em in I say!! Seriously, when you've juggled days off work all summer another INSET day this soon is a PITA. Couldn't they tag it on to half term so if you're going away you get an extra day, or something useful like that?

dddangermouse, you posted on two old threads with abuse towards teachers, which was consequently deleted. It's a bit rich to complain that you got flack back. What do you expect? Confused

dddangermouse lots of people leave teaching because they entered it believing all the myths about long holidays and what an easy life it is.... then they discover the reality and realise it's not for them.

Unlike fivecandles I believe insets should be held when the best training is available to help develop the best education for all pupils

School holidays, INSET... all part of the deal really isn't it? When our dc turn 5, they're at school. There's likely to be a good reason it's short notice. Schools don't set out to piss parents off, but inevitably will as we are such a varied bunch. But you kinda have to lump it, whether yabu or not.
