because she hates boys unless they're more than 15 and wants to concentrate and work hard. (her words!!)
so just done some working out and will need about £25,000+ to send her to either of the independent girls schools within spitting distance.
That is more than I get paid every year. she's not brilliant enough for scholorships and after telling my mother, she hasn't offered.
so unless I win the lottery this week DD will just have to get on with it at current school and when se is in therapy she can blame it all on me.

I attended an all girls' school until 6th form. It was not the vipers' bitchy nest, though some girls were boy mad - I blame the hormones. It did mean fewer opportunities to socialise with the opposite sex which is not a bad idea in itself at that age re: serious relationships. I found 6th form a good time to go co-ed.

They are fine and girls do so so much better academically at them. Virtually all the best schools are single sex. But aren't there any locally to you in the state sector? We have some (not many) single sex state schools around here.

Where do you live?

dd is at an all girls school but has 5 brothers so no problem there -with her thinking they are aliens

her school is great academically but she seeks out the lowest common denominator for friends and it is incredibly bitchy

the girls all fawn over male staff members who in my experience appear to lap it all up

i dont know about the research - where are these studies that girls do better single sex

can anyone enlighten me???????

dd did very well to get into said (state) single sex school (we are disadvantaged as out-of-area) and after 2 years we are about to look into moving her
