Well round here we manage rubbish schools without a grammar. Four schools in town: 12%, 30%, 36% and 39%. And that's without a grammar creaming off the top!
Btw earlier this month I was with my school in Germany and staying in the same hotel there was a boys' grammar school BW from your neck of the woods I believe. Charming boys and staff ... not like our lot at all
