he managed to reach me later that day infact.

I let them ( two) rant for 10 minutes.

i asked J to leave the room and told the teachers i wanted a wrd but i didn't want son to witness 'fractured authority'

i then told him i found his comments from the mornng before insulting and we were not a family of slatterns He apologised. I acceped his apology.

i them went on to tell him that i do remind them when it is PE. Even if their HW diaries go missing i have the school schedule including special days, inset days etc on the kitchen door - there is no excuse.

I went further and told them that if they manage to find a way of making him do things i would give them a gold medal.

short of packing the bag of a 15 year old for school - like i am sure some mothers do, then this 15 yer old was inhis own little spiral and I have quite frankly had enough of him.

i thanked them for their concern and time and left.

May i remind you that if it was indicative of a 'greater problem' i wouldnt be meeting the PE teacher i would be meeting year head or higher - unless the problm you are refering to - is that he has a particularly limp javelin throw

I do appreciate teachers ringing home - in the right context. this was ot it.
this was about J not taing his PE Kit

i remind him
they remind him

J is being particularly obnoxious at the moment. We have our life stresses - but i am sure that other families do too - and manage to bring in a PE kit.

J doesn't give ashit and i am done

PE Kit meeting are you shitting me.

You are right.

He forgets his kit, he does detention. Or doesn't get to go to the Prom. Or something.

You have better things to do than pack your 15 year old's kit. Teachers should have better things to do than hassle you about it.

I get annoyed with this...as a teacher I quite often get 'Have you rung all the parents of all your Year 10 students whose coursework is late?'

No, I bloody well haven't. I've given the students in question a bollocking & put them in detention (ie. unpaid overtime for me) to complete it.

It's not helpful to spoonfeed young adults to this extent.

Blimey! So it really was all over him forgetting his PE kit? You got called in for a meeting for that? I mean, it's great that they are trying to keep on top of things, but, dragging a working mum in to deal with a 15 year olds forgotten PE kit? I dunno how you kept so calm.

I'm with ravenAK, At 15 he should be taking some responsibility for himself (yeah I know, you wish) so the teachers should find some way of inconveniencing HIM, not you. Uniform infringements at our school mean demerits and when you get a few that means after school detention. I've told DS1 that if he gets detention for uniform issues I'm not collecting him so if he misses the school bus he's got a 13km walk home (seriously). Has focused his mind wonderfully
