Does Queen Ethelburga's still maintain a strong academic focus after merger?

Does Queen Ethelburga's College (QE) still push students to study hard even after the school merger? I am curious about the school's academic management of students. I am interested in Year 10 admission and am looking for a highly academic school, just like Concord College.

Do they still chase people online who discuss the issues they’ve had?

There are plenty of highly academic schools in Yorkshire, you haven’t named one in your post.

Nailed it.

It doesn't traditionally have a strong academic focus? Which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

You can compare schools using information produced by the Department for Education:

https://www.gov.uk/school-performance-tables

According to this data QE’s average A-level grade in 2023 was a B-, and in 2024 and 2025 it was a C+. In 2023 they were above the local authority average but in the past two years they have been below:

In comparison Concord College's average A-level grades were A,A,A+ over the same time period. So the results are very different!
