St Peter's Edinburgh uniform: branded items or mostly supermarket alternatives?

I'm moving to Edinburgh from England and am sending my children to St Peters, Falcon Road. The school have said that they no longer push for branded uniform and that you can buy supermarket alternatives - which sounds amazing! I was just wondering what this looks like in reality though. Are most children in branded, non branded or a mix of both? Seeing as they're started a new school in a new country I want my kids to feel that they fit in. Any help or advice much appreciated.

I don't have details for this specific school, but most schools in Scotland don't have strict uniform rules and many, many child will just wear supermarket/m&s/next uniform in the school colours.
Of course some will wear the school logo items, but it won't be any means be everyone. There are some schools that are more 'uniform' than others but there's a big push on reducing the cost of the school day for parents which includes affordable uniforms.

You can see from this P1 photo it's a real mix. iconic.newsprints.co.uk/39590546-edinburgh-evening-news-p1-supplement-october-2022-st-peter-s-primary-p1/

Total mix. Many parents buy one or 2 logo polo shirts or a jumper at the beginning but then buy extras from supermarkets throughout the year.

Thank you for the messages. That sounds like a good idea. I'm not sure if I'll get any branded items delivered in time. Do you know if the school holds any second hand/nearly new sales? Thank you

St Peter's is not our school, we just have family nearby and see the kids walking around. In our school there's a rack of second hand uniform in the foyer, the parent council organise it. A few times a year there's a stall in the playground. Call the school office and ask.

We have to order new uniform and it takes maybe 3 weeks to arrive. Our school doesn't keep a stock or anything.

When are your kids starting? School has been back a couple of weeks here and already my kids are starting to look a bit scruffy. The Sainsbury's polo shirts are my favourites. I think they're nice and soft and never need ironing
