Hi everyone,
I am looking to do an urgent, in-year transfer for my 12-year-old daughter. Her mental health and emotional well-being are my absolute, non-negotiable priorities right now. I need to find a school that excels in pastoral care, has a genuinely nurturing environment, and takes a proactive, supportive stance on student anxiety and bullying.
I have a list of 6 local schools I am considering. I would be incredibly grateful for any real, unvarnished insights from parents who have children currently attending them. I am especially keen to know about the daily vibe and how approachable the pastoral team is.
The schools are:
- Lightcliffe Academy
- Brighouse High School
- Ryburn Valley High School
- The Brooksbank School
- Rastrick High School
- Calder High School
Please only reply if you have recent first-hand experience as a parent or carer. I'm particularly interested in how the school supports children who are anxious or have experienced bullying.
Thank you so much in advance; any insights will help a very worried mum massively.
