Advice on buying shin pads for a slim eight year old

Need to buy slim 8 year old girl some shin pads for sports.

I haven’t bought any since the 90s, what on earth do I get her? It’s for a variety of sports but I have no idea where to start, I don’t want to buy some to find out they’re so uncool they never get used, nor do I want to remortgage my house 🤣

Would these be suitable, OP?

I wonder whether the Lillywhites' store would advise on the most suitable ones, if you rang them.

Just go to a sports shop and buy child sized shin pads. Don’t get the silly short ones that seem to be trendy with footballers, but leave half your leg exposed.

There is not that much variety in shin pads, but be mindful that football shin pads and hockey shin pads (built in ankle protection) are different.

What do you mean for a variety of sports? The ones needed for hockey are very different to the ones needed for football.

School state shin pads are needed in their PE kit, they will definitely play hockey and DD enjoys football so I assume she will use them for this too.

In which case I’d buy a set of proper hockey shin pads - worn lower with ankle protection and a cheap set of football shin pads.
