DS on waiting list for St Dunstans College - What are his chances?

My child has done exceptionally well to pass all stages of 11+ entry for St Dunstans College for 2026 entry and we were told he has a place on the waiting list - pending offer. Does anyone with previous knowledge know what his chances are of getting an offer from it?? They said every year theres quite abit of movement from it so not impossible - but am anxious about it as its my childs first choice.

Do you know whereabouts he is ranked on the waiting list and what was the last place offered from the waiting list last year? That would give you a better idea of his chances.

No they aren’t able to say where a child is on the list - which only adds to the uncertainty!

That is the sort of annoying practice that would put me right off, tbh. Why do this to parents (and the children)? They know exactly where he is on the list. Otherwise will they be making offers from the waiting list at random?

You'll probably get a better indication once the first deadline for acceptances has passed (or a competitor school's offers come out). Maybe try on a local forum, you might find people with experience from previous years willing to share how the waiting list process worked.

Theres only one acceptance deadline im aware of for many of the London independent schools which is March 4th.
Similarly, I think most schools work like this where they don’t reveal place on list. It would help for sure to know.
Until then, it’s just a waiting game and hoping/praying there is movement :(

I know with state schools they will tell you place on waiting list…I know a few parents with past experience of this with state schools so very different experience!
my child has also applied to a state school - will find out if successful with that on March 2nd.
