What information would you like to hear from your child's school?

Hi everyone,

Thinking about secondary school in particular, I hear from other parents that they get a lot of communication from schools and often find it overwhelming or irrelevant. What would you be interested in hearing from your own child's school? Also, when it comes to parent surveys, what would you actually want to be asked and get a chance to give feedback on?

Are you the OP hoping to set up a school?

No lol, I'm on the PTA and wanted to give some feedback that's a bit more than just my own two cents

I could live without the monthly mass emails asking me to fill out the annual data check, which I’ve always already and as usual none of the information is different to the last 5 years. Also I would like all the information at once about a particular event, not about 5 adding extra details and clarifying mistakes made in the previous ones.

Thankfully our school doesn’t do dress up days so I’m saved those last minute emails that instil panic!

On the parent surveys many schools use the Ofsted parent survey questions as a baseline. I’d have a look at that and see what you think.

PTA is normally about fund raising. The parent governors are normally the go to get a general feel of what the parents are concerned about.

I would only want to spend my time filling in a survey about things the school would prepared to change if feedback was that people weren’t happy with it.
