Hi Parents,
I would be really grateful for any insights into the 13+ entrance exam formats from parents who have prepared, or are currently preparing, their children for these schools. I’m particularly keen to know:

  • Are calculators allowed in the maths papers?
  • How are the English papers structured? For example, are they divided into sections such as comprehension, SPaG, and creative writing?
  • What level of difficulty are the papers usually set at, since sample or past papers for these schools are quite hard to find?
Any recommendations for preparation resources or techniques would also be hugely appreciated. Many thanks in advance!

-Calculator not allowed.
-Depending on when pupil is sitting test, format varies. I.e. in year 6 for City, it's reading, then writing. If taking test in yr 8 (if waitlisted), format is different.
-Difficulty: think GCSE level.
