Do schools / colleges get GCSE results the day before

Yes, I know I’ll have to wait until tomorrow but I want to be as prepared as possible as I’m working away all day and want to make sure I can support DD…

So my DD (just turned 17, some SEN and terrible anxiety that meant she was home schooled for years 10 and 11).

she got nearly all the GCSEs she needed to get into 6th form and is now doing a cracking job in her A levels, predicted to do really well and wants to go to Uni next year which we couldn’t have imagined her saying a year ago.

she’s always struggled with maths. Did the foundation paper last year and got a 3. Resat in November and got a 3 again (also had to cope with the change from IGCSE which her previous paper was to GCSE which includes a non calculator paper she’d never done at IGCSE).

she did her second retake this spring and gets her result tomorrow.

She said she checked her 6th form timetable today and maths is gone from it and she’s been scheduled into other lessons so into her maths slot, there is no longer maths on her timetable.

She says this happened to her mates who passed in November, their timetables had maths removed (while hers didn’t as she hadn’t passed).

is it possible that her 6th form college had results today and have adjusted accordingly?

I’ve only added all the waffle at the start of this post to explain why I’m so invested and yes I know I need to wait but I just want to go to bed hoping for the gear tomorrow.

Any insights?

Sorry, I don’t understand your post. They took maths off the timetables of the kids who passed as they no longer needed to attend maths lesson. Nothing to do with class sizes

It may be that there were small numbers who passed so were able to remove their timetables quickly. With a whole cohort sitting up to 14 exams each, they may not have the time to remove it from your daughter’s timetable just yet. It is a slo school holidays so perhaps the person who does the timetable is on holiday.
