Hello,

We are looking to identify which grammar and independent schools to apply to for our daughter (currently in Y5). She is performing well above average in all subjects and has a strong passion for art, drama, and sport. Also her GL SAT results are above 141 both in Maths and English. We are particularly interested in all-girls’ schools. Do you have any recommendations?

Thanks in advance.

I would have a look around/ book onto the open days of:
Sydenham High School (girls)
Babington House (co-educational)
Bromley High School (girls)
Streatham & Clapham High (girls)

streatham and Sydenham are a long way from SE3?

Bromley has a better reputation than Blackheath High. But probably doesn’t rate as highly as Jags in Dulwich?

grammars- there’s Newstead, Townley and Dartford. Newstead you’re in catchment but it’s v competitive.

Townley you would probably get in on distance if deemed selective in the Bexkey tests- but it’s not a dead cert.

Dartford you’d be applying for an out of county place so would need to do v well in the Kent test.

if she’s already in year 5 then keep an eye on dates as the grammar tests are in September and you’d need to register soon.

If you were thinking co ed then Colfes and Eltham are both stronger academically. Nd closer than Babington
