Dulwich prep & senior school, Blackhealth prep vs Eaton house The Manor?

Hi everyone,

I’m currently exploring prep schools for my 2-year-old son and would love to hear from parents with experience at Dulwich Prep, Blackheath Prep, and Eaton House The Manor. We’re trying to get a better understanding of how they compare in terms of:
Academic standards & destination schools – Where do most boys move on to when they leave at 11+? How much does the school prepare boys for the 7+, 11+ exams?
Pastoral care & school environment – How nurturing and supportive is the school, especially in the early years?
Extracurriculars & sport/music – Which school offers the best all-rounded experience?
Parental involvement & school community – Are they welcoming and engaged?

I’d love to hear any thoughts on the Nursery/Reception experience at these schools, as well as the transition into later years. Any insights, personal experiences, or advice would be greatly appreciated! 😊

Thanks in advance!

Hi @Londonpurple We are at a similar crossroads currently? Between the exact same schools and throw in Newton Prep for good measure. Have you decided yet? Any thoughts on how to go about it?

Congratulations for that! We haven’t decided yet which prep schools for our boy. However, after the school open day, both DH and I are more in favour of the DPL. How is your boy doing at the Newton prep?

Those schools are across a large area? Will you move closer to the one you choose or are you commuting?

We now have a baby girl too. So we actually declined a place for 2+ at Dulwich prep in favour of coeducational schools. Between the other three schools - Blackheath, Newton and Eaton manor - we went with Blackheath prep. It's bigger with nice facilities and lots of open spaces. He is starting in January at 3+. So excited!!
