Hello,
I’m writing anonymously as a frontline staff member at a school operated by Keys Group. I feel compelled to share my experience to shed light on some serious issues that I believe could be affecting the quality of care and education our children receive—especially those with social, emotional, and mental health needs.
Over the past several months, there have been multiple reports from staff about concerning behaviors by a senior leader. These reports describe instances of bullying, coercion, and manipulative tactics that have led to an extremely toxic working environment. For example, there have been occasions when staff have been reduced to tears during meetings—a situation that is both demoralizing for employees and likely to impact the classroom atmosphere and overall well-being of our vulnerable pupils.
Despite raising these issues through internal channels—initially with senior management and then formally with HR—there has been little to no meaningful action. Instead, we have only received vague assurances and generic “school improvement” updates that do not address the specific behaviors causing distress. This approach leaves staff feeling ignored and unsupported, while the core issues remain unresolved.
I want to emphasize that this isn’t about singling out one individual for punishment; it’s about creating a safe, respectful, and professional environment for all staff, which in turn ensures that our children receive the best possible support and education. As a parent or caregiver, you deserve to know about the conditions at the school your children attend.
I remain anonymous for my own protection, but I hope that by raising awareness, we can spark the accountability needed to make meaningful changes.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
