Helping my daughter with history project in Brighton

I’m wondering, is there any way to identify a school uniform from decades ago as she is struggling and has asked for help from me to find out

Try a Facebook local history group/page?

Does she need a photo of an old (presumably Brighton school?) uniform or does she already have one that needs identifying?

We tried that we think a school may of changed the uniform

she needs to caption it students from “insert school “ I believe you know like if it was from a war photo, you’d say members of the insert regiment

I'd say you need to be able to clearly see the style and colour of the uniform, including the badge. Then try and find out where exactly the kids lived or where it was taken. Then you could look at the schools that were open in that time period nearby. And Google pics of the uniform/school from that period to see if it matches? Or even contact the schools themselves once you've narrowed it down a bit.

since it's historic info you're looking for maybe if you say the name the power of mn might help.

The badge will almost certainly help, you’d be amazed what minimal information can turn up on google. I wouldn’t discount local facebook pages, people love to lurk (looking at myself) and any chance to talk about their old school days is sure to bring someone out the woodwork. What sort of decade are we talking?

Does Mn have a local Brighton group? Maybe try there. Or publish it on this thread?

If it's a long established school, isn't likely to be an old photo of pupils at the same school - as a sort of humorous exercise in showing them how everything has changed? Is that a possibility?

@ThatHazelJoker I've got a photo of my Mum aged 11 in the old Varndean uniform if that's any use to you? Would have been taken in 1958
