Benefits of pre school / school nursery?

Does a pre school (like at a private school) or a school nursery (government school) offer any educational advantage over staying in a nursery?

My DC happens to go to a pre-school that’s part of a private school, but only because the state schools wouldn’t take my DC for various reasons. Jokes on them though when they’ll have to have him for reception but anyway, over private nursery, which DC started out in compared to pre-school, I’d 1000% choose pre-school over private nursery. One of us works the academic calendar though so it works.
