Hi, nerves are racking... has anyone heard from second interviews invitations or scholarships? Usually they issue an email around this time..?

I think that they might be out next week. We are also waiting, and I agree, the process is stressful! Worse will not be hearing anything until Feb - which could be good or bad news!

Yes indeed; though a few year ago they sent out emails after term had ended. Let's hope!

We've just received a second interview invitation for January (email sent 12 Dec 2024). Mixed feelings about it... good he's got an interview, but would have preferred a straight "yes" in February. Fingers remain crossed!

@dad103 Thanks for sharing. It's not bad actually as he has a good chance to get an offer. We might get a straight NO in February after long waiting.

Anyone received second interview email today? We still haven’t got anything yet!

We're waiting as well. My email box is pretty full so I'm worried I missed something. Was the email on Thursday from Kathryn Sweet? Does anyone know whether we'd be sent a letter in the post too? February is a long way away! Good luck to everyone.

The second interview email I received last Thursday was from the "rgs-admissions" mailbox. No postal letter advised (and none received to date), so I'm not expecting a letter. Good luck all.

We haven't received the email. Any news for sports or music scholarships?

In the information we received from an admissions session with the school it said they'd email those shortlisted for art, drama, music and sport scholarships on 6th Jan

Hi @Whamageddon congratulations! my ds has also got an academic scholarship invite. It's my first time going through the 11+process. Does getting an academic scholarship invite guarantees at least a full fee place for ds? Me and ds are both anxious as RGS is ds's first choice school.

Hi @BoysMumlife , congratulations to you too! I was wondering the same. We decided as it's not a formal offer of a place, it's not guaranteed. But I think the boys would have to do something pretty bad at the interview/test for RGS to decide not to make an offer after inviting them to sit for the scholarship. RGS is our first choice too, but we decided to continue with applications to other schools just in case.

Out of in interest, which schools are comparable if as alternative?

@BoysMumlife @Whamageddon the admissions documentation usually clarifies the situation. When DS went through the process, being invited for the academic scholarship tests meant they had an offer of a full fee place. Mrs Sweet will be happy to speak to you (as she did, with me) next week, when the school opens on Tues.
Back then, knowing DS had a place, took the pressure off the tests and allowed us to position the scholarship as the cherry on top of the icing on the cake.
